Playwright:
Tony Cottrell has been working in the theatre, first as an actor, then as a director, designer and playwright for over 30 years. Pantomimes, arguably the most significant British contribution to World theatre since the Restoration Comedy, have fascinated him since a child and he has written many, from his first, for the Bristol Arts Centre, in 1974, entitled: 'The Scallyman's Beautiful Daughter' to his most recent, 'Aladdin' for the Redgrave Theatre, Bristol in 2004. A number of them have won awards, including 'the Ousting of the Ogre Bogle' to the small-scale 'Jack and the Beansprout'.

You will see from the titles that he does not only use traditional stories for his pantos.
