CINDERS: (GIVES HIM THE HAT) Is this yours?
PRINCE: Have you been stealing?
CINDERS: No, I found it!
PRINCE: Oh but you have, you know - Maybe not my hat: I mean my h- (HE IS ABOUT TO SAY "HEART" WHEN ANOTHER PECULIAR BIRDSONG- A SHIP'S HOOTER-INTERRUPTS) You do have the most remarkable wildlife about here.
CINDERS: Oh, life was rather tame really, until you came-
PRINCE: What's your name?
CINDERS: Cinderella- though most peole call me 'Cinders'. Baron Hardup's daughter And what do they call you?
PRINCE: I am Prince Charming (REMEMBERS HIMSELF) -'s manservant- Dandini.
CINDERS: Dandini? And is there a Mrs. Dini?
PRINCE: No, dandini's my name- my first name.
CINDERS: It's a lovely name-
PRINCE: Not as nice as 'Charming'
CINDERS: Yes it is. 'Charming's just..you kow, a present participle used adjectively but Dandini (SWOONING) 'a real neologism!
PRINCE: Where did you go to school?
CINDERS: I never did- I just picked up what I could, where I could.
PRINCE: How very infectious- You know, I'm sure we've met before.
CINDERS: Yes of course- about ten minutes ago.
PRINCE: No, I mean, 'before' before-
CINDERS: No- you must have been dreaming-
PRINCE: That's it! That's where I saw you. In my dreams! (CUE FOR A SONG)
